About Mrs. Minatta
third grade teacher
Hello there! My name is Kelli Minatta, and I am absolutely thrilled to be starting my fifth year here at Cottonwood Creek! I am so lucky to be a part of such a positive and caring school community. I cannot wait to be your child's teacher!
As a third grade teacher, my goal is to not only meet the needs of each child in the classroom but ignite a passion for learning that students carry with them for the rest of their lives. All students can succeed, and it is through this process that they develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning. I want third graders to be excited to come to school each day and to feel proud of the work that they do! Below you will find some facts about me. In the classroom, I stress communication and collaboration, so feel free to contact me with any questions! Email: [email protected] Phone: (720) 554-3235 |
I was born in Kansas City, MO but have resided in the Denver area for most of my life. Yes, if you're wondering... I am a Chiefs and Royals fan, but I also have love for the Broncos and Rockies (kind of). Because I love living in Colorado so much, I decided to attend the University of Colorado at Boulder (Go Buffs!). There, I earned a bachelor's degree in Speech, Language & Hearing Sciences along with a minor degree in Linguistics. After graduating, I began work in the speech pathology sector within K-12 public schools.
While working in speech, I found myself wanting to be more involved in my students' lives. The different learning styles, daily discoveries and personalities of all my students drew me to the classroom, and I didn't want to leave! That being said, I earned a master's degree in Elementary Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment. Soon after, I was hired as a teacher in Douglas County and then journeyed to Cottonwood Creek. Since then, I have fallen even more in love with teaching and am always excited to come to school. Third grade is an awesome year full of new learning, self discovery and often laughter! Third grade was my absolute favorite year in elementary school, and I hope to make it one of your child's favorites as well! When I'm not in the classroom, I enjoy being outdoors. Hiking and skiing are some of my favorite things to do. I am also a music fan, and am frequently attending live concerts. Relaxing at home with Pilsner and Stout (our kitties) is always a favorite pastime. I am joined in all these adventures by my husband, Ryan, our family and friends, and our newest addition- baby Leo!
